Retailers say its National Candle Day. I love candles, what a great invention. A lit beeswax candle is atmospheric perfection. My office feels warmer when the day is grey.

I see scented candles on display. My mother loved them this time of year. Yankee candles, colored jars, remind me of her. Evergreen or potpourri or zesty holiday.

If I want that now, I'll use a cut a pine bough Or simmer potpourri; cloves, cinnamon, and an orange slice. That makes the house smell seasonal and nice. Whatever you prefer; enjoy a candle anyhow.
