Poetry

He opened his mouth to speak not one voice, Or two, but thousands streamed forth At once from his single tongue. Passersby stopped at the marvel And invited friends to witness A great cloud of hearers heard clearly just one Voice; The one needed to Comfort their pain, Encourage them to try again, Heal the cause of their effect. Shakespeare ne'er such sonnets spoke Nor the great Ovid rhyme such scheme. Aztec chieftains did often dream Of extracting beating hearts with words like his. Yet not one who heard was wondering What was it that he was hearing.
